How Much Can You Get?
Grant Highlights:
Up to 60% grant aid for eligible solar PV systems
€90,000 investment ceiling per applicant
Ring-fenced funding exclusively for solar installations
Minimum eligible investment: €2,000
Multiple applications per tranche allowed (up to max ceiling)
Scheme Objectives:
Lower on-farm energy costs through solar self-consumption
Cut reliance on fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions
Support climate-neutral, future-ready agriculture
Who’s Eligible?
Registered farmers with at least 5 hectares of eligible land or 20 production units (e.g. poultry, pigs)
Applicants must be registered with the Department of Agriculture and have a Department identifier
Farms must consume 100% of the generated energy on-site
What’s Covered?
Eligible investments include:
Solar PV panels (up to 62 kW eligible for grant aid)
Rechargeable batteries (up to 50% of PV output)
Inverters and electrical components
Roof- or ground-mounted systems (subject to planning)
Note: PV panels must be installed for on-farm use only. Export to the grid is not permitted under this scheme.

Include a completed On-Farm Solar PV Survey and recent electricity bills
Provide required documents (maps, drawings, planning permission, etc.)

> Deadlines operate in tranches—apply early to secure your spot
Important Notes
> All work must be approved before starting
> Deposits made before approval are not eligible
> Investments must be completed within 12 months of approval (extensions possible)
