How Much Can You Get?
The SEAI grant supports the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on your home. Grant values are based on the size of your system:
System Size | Grant Amount |
---|---|
1 kWp | €700 |
2 kWp | €1,400 |
3 kWp | €1,600 |
4 kWp | €1,800 (maximum) |
Please Note:
- Grants are paid on a pro-rata basis. Grant cap (€1,800) reached at 4KWp which is approx 9-10 Panels.
- Zero 0% VAT Rate applies for homeowners, which is a significant saving. (Since May 2023)
- Response is immediate and typically approval is gained in 1 minute.
- Grant Amount per KWp is related to Total Solar PV panel capacity to be installed.
i.e. 8x 445Watt Solar Panels = 3560W or 3.56KWp – thus can apply for a grant of 3KWp.
Who Can Apply?
You are eligible if:
You own the home (landlords included)
The home was built and occupied before 31 December 2020
Your home has not previously received a Solar PV grant
You apply and receive grant approval before any installation starts
