The Non-Domestic Microgen Grant (NDMG), offered by SEAI, supports businesses and organisations in installing solar PV systems. These systems allow you to generate your own electricity on-site, reduce energy bills, and demonstrate sustainability in action. Grants are available for systems up to 1000kWp, with a maximum grant of €162,600.

The Process
How to Apply
Step 1 – Choose an SEAI-registered solar company
Use the SEAI list to select your preferred installer. You’ll need a contract in place before applying.
Step 2 - Apply for your grant
Submit your online application at seai.ie. Wait for your official Letter of Offer before starting any work.
Step 3 - ESB Networks for Grid connection approval
Your installer will submit an application to ESB Networks for grid connection approval . If NC6 around allow 4-6 weeks, but with NC7 allow 6 weeks minimum.
Step 4 – Installation
Once approved, your system is installed by your chosen company.
Step 5 – Documentation submission
The installer uploads required documents to SEAI, including certificates and photos of the system.
Step 6 – Receive your grant
Once all paperwork is verified and approved, payment is issued within 4–6 weeks.
