What Sets Moontree Solar Apart?
Tailored Engineering for Commercial Demands
Commercial systems require a fully thought out structure to harness the panels fitted. We design based on;
- Usage profile & energy demand
- Site layout, roof structure, and shadows
- Tariff structure (including dynamic pricing)
- Integration with battery storage, EV chargers, immersion diverters, and more
- Potential for expansion or future upgrades
Full Grant Support – From Start to Finish
Many installers mention the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgeneration Grant (NDMG). We guide you through the process, from concept to claim.
- Up to €162,600 available depending on system size (up to 1000kWp)
- Grant application support prior to installation.
- SEAI Grant claim assistance guidance (we help with calculations & evidence)
- NDMG Registered Installer – we're qualified and approved
- NC7 applications to ESB Networks
- BER and system documentation
- Manufacturer certification & compliance

We also assist with:
Quality Systems that Last
In a commercial setting, downtime can be costly losing valuable savings. That’s why we insist on;
- Premium Tier 1 Brands – Sigenergy, Saj, Sofar, Dyness, Jinko & TW Solar.
- High-efficiency monocrystalline panels with 25–30 year warranties
- Oversized cabling (6mm² as standard), double insulation, and shadow analysis
- Fireback protection, surge protection, and proper isolator setups
- Precise string design, optimisers where needed, and load balancing
Return on Investment (ROI)
A well designed commercial system can make its money back in just 3-4 years, depending on the site size and energy profile. Adding batterys and a Gateway will extend the ROI slightly to maybe 4-5 years, but once paid will provide even more return on your investment for the many years to follow. Of course, this is estimated, every site is unique, but this is a good guideline based on experience. Being Smart and planning for the long term will provide increased value and convenience to your system better long term savings.
Maximising ROI means:
- No two businesses are the same, energy requirements, time of use and battery storage are all factors unique to the site. The shortest ROI will not necessarily the best.
- Lowering cost by stripping off batterys, gateways and hot water diverters will reduce the ROI in the short term, but provide less value in the long term.
- It is important to start by choosing quality products as a basic, then choosing the correct amount of battery storage required and other products such as hot water diverters or Gateways – Rationalise the products, what is needed and why.
The system needs to be fit for purpose and then its ROI established.
What’s in a Commercial Solar System?
Your system will likely be made up of:
Solar Panels (Jinko or TW Solar 445W or 620W)
Hybrid or String Inverters (Sigenergy or SAJ)
Li-ion Battery Storage (Stackable, Safe)
- Gateway (Sigenergy) To function off grid, Immersion diversion & Backup.
Immersion diverter (to heat water)
EV Charger (optional)
- AC/DC Isolators, Surge Protection, Sub Boards
Smart Monitoring via Wi-Fi or LAN
We also assist with:
System integration with BMS
Export Limitation (if required)
Network load profiling
Project Process – What to Expect
Initial Consultation – We assess your energy usage, site, and goals
On-Site Survey – For accuracy, string layout, cabling, and compliance
- Proposal & Grant Support – We prepare a detailed proposal and assist with SEAI application
NC7 & Planning (if required) – We handle all paperwork
Installation & commissioning – Carried out by our trained, certified team
Training – We hand over with full documentation & training

Common Issues – And How We Avoid Them
We often see rushed installs result in:
> Roof leaks, broken tiles
> Fire risks from poor DC cable connections
> Mismatched panels & inverters
> Poor performance
> Shadowing issues not accounted for
We prevent these when installing by:
> Using qualified trades for every step
> Factoring in shadows and roof types
> Installing optimisers where needed
> Never using cheap or unverified brands
> Designing with expansion in mind
Technology & Future-Proofing
We work with brands like Sigenergy and SAJ that offer:
Smart battery management (BMS)
Up to 10-year warranties
Remote diagnostics & app-based controls
Stackable, modular systems with future expandability
Your system is designed not just for today — but for the future of energy.
